at LONGEVITY FEST

Great success Friday, August 26 in Porto Cervo Marina for the first edition of the Longevity Fest organized as part of the regional project "Sardinia Discovery Journey"
(regional territorial marketing program "INSULA - Sardinia Quality World") , promoted by
the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Region of Sardinia and the CIPNES,
to tell and promote, through an experiential and identity path, the "Destination Sardinia".
The format of the Longevity Fest was designed by the director Pietro Mereu who already organized with the Cultural Association Mater Dea the pilot event in Milan ,
the event had as its main theme the longevity of the Sardinian people and the Sardinian-Mediterranean diet.

The institutional greetings of the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Arzachena Cristina Usai and the
president of the Cipnes Gianni Sarti anticipated the presentation of the godmother of the evening,
the almost centenary Battistina Secci of Urzulei, welcomed among the applause of the public. After the screening of the
documentary Il Club dei centenari by Pietro Mereu, the presenter Martina Tore introduced
the talk on the origin of the Blue Zone with Pietro Mereu, Gianni Pes, Giovanni Scapagnini and Raffaele Sestu.
A round table animated by the story of the almost random birth of the Blue Zone by Gianni Pes,
to the stories of Okinawa by Scapagnini to get to the anecdotes of Sestu on the centenaries that has edited throughout his career, 26, a world record.
